Energy-from-Waste operator, enfinium, announces it has signed an agreement with ENGIE to provide power to homes and businesses.<\/h4>\n

enfinium will supply around 390 GWh of power to ENGIE per year from 2025 to 2028, which it says is equivalent to powering 140,000 homes.<\/p>\n

The power will be supplied by enfinium\u2019s Energy-from-Waste (EfW) Skelton Grange facility in Leeds, which is due to become operational this summer.<\/p>\n

This is the first Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) between enfinium and ENGIE, a global company whose purpose is to accelerate the transition towards a carbon-neutral economy.<\/p>\n

Wayne Robertson, Chief Commercial & Strategy Officer of enfinium, commented: \u201cThis agreement highlights the benefits of using society\u2019s unrecyclable waste to generate reliable, homegrown energy to power British homes and businesses.<\/p>\n

Once operational, enfinium says its Skelton Grange facility will divert up to 410,000 tonnes of unrecyclable waste from emissions-intensive landfill every year.<\/p>\n

The Aire Valley Heat and Power Network has also been awarded \u00a319.5 million in funding from the Government\u2019s Green Heat Network Fund to harness waste heat from the Skelton Grange facility.<\/p>\n

enfinium says it has invested over \u00a3500 million into the site\u2019s construction, which has created over 400 jobs. Once operational, the facility will provide over 40 full-time roles, according to the EfW operator.<\/p>\n
